our top gifts we received this year
Allan:
This year Allan and I decided that we wouldn’t give each other gifts. Between five kids and opening the shop, we feel pretty overextended and, honestly, we don’t NEED anything. Well, that idea lasted for about five minutes. We have a pretty talented local artist/friend that can paint practically anything. So, I called her up and gave her a list of places that are meaningful to Allan and me from restaurants to places we have visited together to our history to inside information and she brought them all together in a pretty beautiful piece. Allan says this might be one of his favorite gifts that he has EVER received!
Eva (15 years old):
Eva says she loves all of the gifts she received this year! She just loves the feeling of “home” and Christmas and family, but, if she had to narrow it down then this gift would be in her top three. If you know Eva then you know she doesn’t go anywhere without a big water jug and this one checks off all of the boxes for her!
Erin (14 years old):
Erin is fashion forward in so many ways. Like Eva and Zoe, she is on top of the trends, but she also has her own sense of style that makes her unique! She had a handful of items that topped her list of favorite Christmas gifts this year and the number one thing she gushed about over and over were her UGG Mini II boots. She takes great care of her things and was immediately researching boot protectant on Christmas morning to take care of these cute and comfy shoes!
Zoe (13 years old):
Zoe’s Love Language is “Gifts” so, naturally, Christmas is one of her favorite times of the year. She carefully makes her Christmas list every year and always has some of the most fun and interesting things on it…I even steal some of her ideas for myself every now and then! This year one of her favorite gifts was Valentino’s Donna Born in Roma perfume. This perfume smells incredible! Zoe and I love all sorts of scents and she has a little friend who wears this, we both want to steal a spray whenever she comes to hang out! It is a warm floral scent that lasts a really long time.
Charlie (12 years old):
One of my favorite things about Charlie is his love for the color pink! He is so “all boy” and loves all the sports…give him anything pink and his outfit is complete. He asked for these Harden basketball shoes this year and they just couldn’t be more perfect for him! I can’t wait to watch him on the court with these on his feet!
Nia (9 years old):
Nia has a Rainbow High sanctuary in our basement playroom. She has bedrooms and schoolrooms, kitchens, campers, wardrobes and so much more. She often spends hours playing make believe with her dolls and we ALL know that we better not touch a thing because she knows exactly what should be where! This year she asked for “Georgia Bloom” who is apparently the bees knees of all the Rainbow High dolls! She carefully unwrapped her and all of her accoutrements and placed her in her spot in her Rainbow High land:
Chrissy:
Ladies, we are so hard but so easy to shop for, right? If we need something, we just get it. But, we also have a laundry list of items that we don’t “need”, but we would certainly love to have! From perfume to clothes to shoes to books to crafting supplies to wine to makeup, candles, purses, keychains, sunglasses and more. Our list of wants usually goes on and on! I’ll be heading to Atlanta Market soon and one of the key things to bring along to Market is a good bag to store business cards and W9s, ASID membership info, Trade documents and so much more. Well, there is one bag that I have been eyeing and Erin knew that it would be perfect for me so she reached out to Allan and said, “Dad, I know you aren’t getting gifts for each other this year, but you have to get this for Chrissy!”. And, whatdya know, a big box was beautifully wrapped under our tree and THIS was my favorite gift this year (although, I must say, it was pretty closely tied with the sweet and sentimental gifts that Eva, Erin and Zoe gave me…that will have to be another blog at another time!):
