my favorite white paints

All shades of white paint are so very "in" right now. White, cream, ivory, off white, bright white is everywhere from cabinets to walls to fabrics to woodwork. Layering whites in a room gives a bright and clean feeling, but also helps a space to feel larger and, often, warmer.

If you are thinking of trying out a few white paints on either the interior OR exterior of your home, here are some of my favorites:

  1. Dover White (SW 6385): This is one of the most popular whites (I used it for the exterior of my brick home). It is a creamy white that can lean yellow in certain lights. It is a warm, neutral white so it makes for a great canvas to showcase other items in your space (and an excellent choice for painting interior walls of a house that will be going on the market!).

  2. Simply White (BM OC-117): This is a beautiful white for trim if you are looking for a soft, warm neutral. Again, like Dover White, it can lean a little yellow depending on your lighting.

  3. Super White (OC-152): This is one of the brightest whites Benjamin Moore offers (next to Chantilly Lace). Super White is a beautiful choice for trim and doors, especially if you want the wall color to really stand out. It is a fresh, clean white that has a modern feel with no undertones.

  4. Swiss Coffee (BM OC-45): This is a beautiful, rich and creamy white that gives you a feeling of "color" without there really being any color. It's the perfect choice for giving a soft look to your kitchen cabinets. The picture below is one of my favorite kitchens of all time. It is the Cove Remodel by Studio McGee and the kitchen cabinets are painted in Swiss Coffee...JUST GORGEOUS!
